The Red Bull KTM squad had their team presenation earlier today. They were presenting their Moto3 and Moto2 teams run by Aki Ajo but also introduced their MotoGP team.
KTM is coming to MotoGP from this year. Their debut was in Valencia last year with Mika Kallio. But now they are coming into their first season with big enthusiasm and excitement.
Riders of the team are Pol Espargaró and Bradley Smith. Two boys who already know each other very well as they were team mates in Tech 3 Yamaha for some seasons. Will it be their advantage that they know each other?
There are some pictures of the brand new MotoGP bike.
As a part of the presentation there were also the Moto2 and Moto3 Red Bull KTM riders.
In Moto2 it is new project. Aki Ajo as team manager already had his team in this category but from this season it will be also with Red Bull as main sponsor and they will use KTM chassis. Because of the rules they still have to have Honda engines. The riders’ line-up is Brad Binder (Moto3 2016 World Champion) and Miguel Oliveira. Binder is happy to continue with the team also in the higher category, Oliveira is happy he is back after one year spent in Leopard Team.
For Moto3 category Bo Bendsneyder stays for his second season with the team. Niccoló Antonelli is a newcomer here in the team. He has raced in this class for many years already and maybe his biggest title chances are coming now.
And on that picture you can see all the bikes in their full beauty.
Footnote: I love this team very much (especially the Moto3 and Moto2 ones) and I wish them all the best. I’ve been their fan for many years already and every year I keep my fingers crossed for them. Let’s hope that 2017 will be as amazing as 2016!
