The fourth round of the Superstock 1000 European Championship was in the United Kingdom, at the circuit of Donington Park. Michael Ruben Rinaldi started from pole position while Roberto Tamburini and Florian Marino were there on the front row as well.
Toprak Razgatlioğlu, Federico Sandi and Maximilian Scheib was in the second row. Marco Faccani, Jérémy Guarnoni and Sébastien Suchet started from row number three.
When the red lights went off Rinaldi went to the lead, Razgatlioğlu made a good start and was P2 already. Then Maximilian Scheib went to 3rd place.
Already in the first lap Razgatlioğlu went to the lead ahead of Rinaldi.
In the 3rd lap of the race the Championship leader Michael Ruben Rinaldi crashed from the 2nd position. He was unable to continue in the race.
Razgatlioğlu started to build a gap to his rivals. Sandi then moved to P2, Marino was 3rd and Scheib 4th. These 3 riders were in 1 group and there was quite a big battle there. But Marino made it to second place and Scheib moved to third.
The Razgatlioğlu’s advantage was about 2 seconds and it was more or less same during the whole race. Marino was going 2nd and Scheib 3rd but behind him there were Sandi and also Tamburini trying to catch him.
Toprak Razgatlioğlu won his second race of the season! From 4 races of the season so far there are 2 different winners. Razgatlioğlu won 2 races and Rinaldi won 2 races as well.
In the race Florian Marino was 2nd and Maximilian Scheib 3rd. He took his first podium of the season.
Roberto Tamburini finished 4th, Federico Sandi 5th, Ilia Mykhalchyk 6th, Sébastien Suchet 7th, Jérémy Guarnoni 8th, Luca Vitali 9th, Mike Jones 10th.
Marco Faccani was 11th, Kevin Calia 12th, Kevin Manfredi 13th, Emanuele Pusceddu 14th and Alex Schacht took 1 point for 15th position.
Toprak Razgatlioğlu is now the Championship leader with 79 points. Michael Ruben Rinaldi has 70 points, Florian Marino and Roberto Tamburini have the same amount of 56 points.
Kawasaki is in the Manufacturers standing lead with 79 points, just 3 points ahead of Ducati and Yamaha (both 76 points).
Next race weekend will take place in Italy, Misano and it will be from 16th to 18th June.
